Well I've dropped out of the 30/30 challenge for several reasons. I've been unable to squeeze in the time to do actual paintings. I'm very frustrated that I couldn't keep up and do a decent job with the few paintings I've done thus far. I am looking forward to trying this challenge again in the future though. I have way too much going on this month that needs my immediate attention.
Many thanks for following and checking out my work and I'll be back soon with more art.

Day 19
I'm seriously considering dropping out of this challenge. It's becoming too difficult to find time to paint each day. I have too many top priorities at the moment and pray for something better. I think it's May be best to call it done and prepare myself to meet the next 30/30 challenge. I'd love to hear feedback on this one. Maybe someone can talk me into completing.

Day 18
18 days into the 30/30 challenge. I've chosen superheroes as my theme, having attempted figures and portraits, my hand seems to favor portrait painting better than figures. Time to paint has been the biggest challenge though. I'm feeling rushed to get through many of these. I started with acrylics, then to gouache and now watercolor. I'm moving on with members of the Xmen now. Today's entry is Jean Greay aka Phoenix.

Day 17
This challenge is proving to be tougher than the last. Painting vehicles is so much easier than portraits for me. Lighting on flesh is a whole different ballgame. Add to that flame and a limited palett...oomph. Anyways heres number 17, " Human Torch" completing the Fantastic Four roster.

Day 16
Thought I'd continue with the members of the Fantastic Four. This time with the Invisible Woman. Easy thing about painting her is I can leave it incomplete and it works. Her brother Johnny Storm will be quite a challenge though. Comments and suggestions are always welcomed.

Day 11
This time I decided to go with Tony Stark as portrayed by Robert Downey Jr. The perfect actor to portray Iron man, in my opinion. I'm fairly happy with this painting. Something's id do differently but overall one of my better ones for this month's 30/30 challenge. Thanks for looking and for your comments, advice and inquiries.

Day 9/10
I was unable to post yesterday due to having too many errands to run and a part time job. So today I'm posting two entries one that should've been up yesterday and today's entry.
First Mr. fantastic, followed by Professor Xavier. Prof. X was more of an experimental piece. Not too sure I'm happy with what I've done to him but I wanted to try a more gruff look with a full mustache and partial beard.

Day 7
As the challenge of doing 30 paintings in 30 days continues, I'm learning how difficult it is to not only devote and find time to paint but also learning and teaching myself to do portraits is very daunting. Nevertheless I'm determined to become a better painter. Today's entry is the X-Men's Storm.

Day 5
as you can tell from this entry, I'm still having a very hard time painting figures. I was happy with the pencil sketch but somehow when I switched to paint it fell apart on me. Mistakes are what we learn from and as much as I did not want to post this, it's only fair that I see my faults along the way to success.

Day 4
Well, I made it to day four of the 30/30 challenge. This time I chose a Kryptonian and like the quickness of working in gouache, I am still using only four colors bug this time I had to add blue. I still have no idea how to paint figures and am struggling to get these to look presentable. But that's my goal for day 30, to teach myself through trial and many errors, how to paint the figure and portraits. Thanks for viewing...

Day 3
I'm not a big DC Comic fan, but Batman is too huge a character for me to pass up. However I decided to focus more on the man beneath the mask. In the film adaptations I felt Christian Bale made a very good Bruce Wayne. For painting 3, a small portrait of Mr. Wayne done those time with gouache.

Happy 2015
Welcome to a new year and a new 30 paintings in 30 days challenge. For this challenge I want to learn portraits and I thought If I'm going to do this I may as well pick a subject that I like. So this month you'll hopefully see 30 of my favorite comic book heroes. I'm starting with the classic original Incredible Hulk. This is influenced by Jack Kirby's 1962 Hulk first appearance. I've also decided to use a limited pallet for this month's challenge. I'm using Anders Zorn pallet of White, Red, Yellow Ochre, and Cad Red medium. I'm also adding Blue to my pallet. This should make for a very interesting looking feel for this series. I hope you guys enjoy as much as I enjoy creating these.
