What's he doing now?!?!?!?

Here's a little update for my followers. This year has been a huge struggle on many levels. The most recent developments include:
1) Another Hernia operation. Yes I had a double hernia back in 06(ish). Surprise surprise another hernia this year appeared and I just this past week was able to get rid of it, via surgery. Let's hope that's all I have to worry about for a loooong while.
2) New freelance gig. I am currently creating art for a online graphic novel for Art In Effect. I am doing background art and concept designs which we are hoping will be produced and available by December or January. More to come on that later.
3) The horror series. Progress is being made with 2 pieces completed by Halloween, 75% completion on another and 8 sketched and ready to be started.
4) Mini movie poster spoofs. 2 completed pieces(Get Billy vol. 1 & 2), will hopefully spawn at least 6 other posters. I have ideas but have not been able to start them as yet.
5) Magnets. Custom fridge magnets from nudes to super heroes, I am hoping to begin talks soon with a company about producing a series for their venue. Stay tooned for more soon.
6) Star Wars. More ideas for Star Wars themed posters and advertisements have formed as a result of some of the previous art ideas and conversations with a fellow artist. Yet to begin sketches.
Well that brings us up to date on what my creative world has to offer at the moment. There's so much more yet to be revealed and developed including contests, tee shirts, and  not to mention the last few commission pieces which are nearing completion at last.I hope to bring you guys imagery very very soon. So stay tooned and as always....
Please RESPECT the ladies!!!!

A New Twist on Movie Posters

So the new horror series I'm creating has lead to more ideas. To give some more variety to my work I've decided to remake some of my favorite movie posters. Here's the twist, the stars are children. Imagine Rocky Balboa as a 5 yr. old boxer, Aliens Ripley as a 7yr. old, or a grade school version of Neo Trinity and Morpheus. You get the idea. So here's the 1st spoof poster...a pint size Beatrix Kiddo star of GET BILLY.
The second of this series for Get Billy....

Halloween Treat #1

"Dr. F.N. Stein" makes her 1st debut illustrated appearance in this unique horror series. After a discussion with my good friend/model Cherese aka "Rubilocks" I decided to do a series of horror based pinups. This series will feature situations children should not be exposed to. Here we see this youngster sneaking his way into trouble under a hospital gurney. A little known fact for you "Dr. Stein" was inspired by my favorite horror model Wendy. I've done previous versions of her that resemble Wendy's features. I've gotten several requests at the last anime convention I attended for prints of her. I'm hoping to have these as part of a new book for next years Megacon. Very sexy and erotic pinup monsters in various situations. More to come but 1st I must finish a commission piece for a good friend. (Thanks for being patient J). Hope this teaser gets you excited for what will come next month.
Til next time please RESPECT the ladies....

Halloween Treats preview

So I've been wanting to redraw some pieces and add some monstrous pinups to my portfolio. So by Halloween I hope to finish at least 3 of what I have planned. Some of them include my "F.N.Stein" femme pictured here:
Also a Mummy, Vampire, possibly zombies, Serial killers, and more. Some of the ideas are the brainchild of my model "Rubilocks"aka Cherese. We share ideas from time to time and there'll be a few of her visions included. So come back in a few weeks for more and hopefully a lot more art. Thanks for reading and please feel free to "follow" my blog.
As always please RESPECT the ladies.

Pinups

The following are examples of some of my past pinup work which became popular back when myspace was the social network of choice. I still do commissions for pinup art and am currently working on 2 huge pieces as well as a holiday themed series but more on that later.
This is Stephanie E. as "Slave Leia", she's a huge Star Wars fan and asked if I could do something themed for her collection. The piece was done with marker on vellum, and she was very excited to receive the final art. Definitely a favorite of mine as well.

This was done for The "Scarlett Harlotte" famous amongst the pirate community. After being referred to her site from a close friend and RaySee model (Rubilocks), I had to draw this stunning redhead. It was my most challenging piece up to that date back in 2009. I was pretty happy with the result and Ms. "Harlotte" was overjoyed with her rendering.

I was seeking new challenges all the time so the thought of doing series of international pinups was a great idea. I had no idea how to show their country heritage until one day I looked up the culture of the girl I was drawing at the time. One of the 1st things that popped up was a small standard image of the country's flag. So I figured the best way to keep her "Racy" and show off her country would be to drape her beautiful nude body in the flag. So I did 1 or 2 and got requests from other women wanting to be represented in the same way. To date I've done Jamaica (seen here above), Ireland, Japan, Trinidad, Belgium, Haiti, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, India, and a very challenging mixed race of America and Vietnam. I thought she would be a great challenge being a decedent of a soldier, plus the 2 countries that were at war at one time in history coming together to create one of the most beautiful women I had ever seen. I had to illustrate not only her beauty but combine the flags it was extremely difficult but the end result (seen below)  was an interesting one to say the least.

2010 Portfolio

The following are images from work I've done for various projects in 2010. From creature art to pinups, to Character designs and storyboards.
First up are various sketches of my favorite sea creature..the Octopus. I would later use a sketch for a collaborative sketchbook to promote a friend's Tee shirt business.
I designed the sketchbook and chose a centerfold of an Octi sketch. The pages of the sketchbook were meant to look like they had been uncovered from a sea wreckage. So using photoshop I made the page look worn and blurred out from water damage.

I also did several illustrations for the book which was used to help promote the launch of Tim Louck's Pirate Series of tees for http://www.pirate-duck.com I did the first of a series of pirate pinup girls for his line of shirts. The following images are 2 pages from the sketchbook.
The final sketchbook was for sale at megacon 2011 and remaining books are available through me. Just drop me a line and you'll get a free RaySee fridge magnet included. Rayseeart@gmail.com

CG work update-Asuka Langley Soryu

So Now that I've gotten a wacom tablet I'm doing much more computer art than traditional. Never fear, I also have 1 huge commission piece that I will post someday in the not too far future. It's completely pen and marker and one of my favorite commissions to date. The detail is taking a lot of time but hopefully will be worth it once finished.
In the mean time here's a progression of a new Evangelion piece. This one is of Asuka, the fiesty redhead pilot of Eva unit 02 (for those familiar with the series). I'm fairly happy with it but will probably go back and rework a few things.

At this stage I added her color and put her Eva unit in the background but it maybe competing too much with her. I'm also not very keen on her face but we'll see what happens as I work on her some more. Stay tooned for more.
R.
So here's the latest addition to Asuka, I've added highlights to her suit and changed the Eva and background. I'm still questioning her face the more I look at it though.
The final version. Added some building and atmosphere very rough and loose so it's not too distracting from Asuka.

New CG art....DeviantArt Contest

This is a new piece done for a recent contest on Deviant Art. The objective was to take a scribble they provided and turn it into a piece of art. This was a great excuse to put some of the tutorials and practice using my new wacom tablet, to the test. While I don't expect to win, I was more looking to add some good pieces to my Concept art portfolio. So I took the 2 squiggly lines and circle seen here...
and with some creativity made a fish.
However that wasn't enough so I made him a cyborg fish and dropped in a menacing Octopuss (my favorite aquatic animal) for some dramatic flair. Since I don't have photoshop I used the free downloadable Gimp software. It's like a watered downed photoshop but still works nicely.
